Our mission is to provide a safe source of water and proper sanitation facilities for Oneida tribal members within the Oneida reservation. Funding from this department provides assistance for emergency projects and emergency repairs for well and septic systems for tribal members.

The Well & Septic program and Oneida Plumbing Department helps Oneida tribal individuals solve their water supply and wastewater problems. The Well & Septic program provides funding for emergencies and information about private well water and onsite wastewater treatment systems.  

 

 

 Who is eligible? 

To be eligible you must be an enrolled Oneida tribal member, reside within Oneida reservation boundaries, and own your home.

 

 

 

 Who evaluates your existing well and septic systems? 

Oneida Plumbing Department is located at the Oneida Department of Public Works. Plumbers are required to be on site to evaluate your situation and they will determine whether or not it is an emergency. The office number for Oneida Plumbing is (920) 869-1059 (7AM to 3PM) for non-emergency work requests. For emergencies the number is (920) 227-7676. 

 

 

 Indian Health Service Scattered Sites Grant? 

Our department is responsible for maintaining grants through Indian Health Service to install on-site water and wastewater facilities to individual tribal members who are building a new home within the Oneida reservation. This grant is referred to as the “Scattered Sites Project” which provides a cost cap of $32,000.00 per applicant for installation of water supplies and wastewater sanitation facilities.
