Master of Science in Natural Resources-- Environmental Education
Becky Nutt’s Bio
I am beginning my seventeenth year at Oneida Nation High School where I teach Biology, Advanced Biology, Environmental Science, Horticulture, and Science Research. I have a Master of Science in Natural Resources with a concentration in Environmental Education from UW-Stevens Point and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a microbiology concentration from Mankato State, MN. I am currently a fellow with Siemens STEM Academy and with the Society for Science and the Public (SSP). The Siemen’s fellowship provides support to integrate more technology into the classroom as students are encouraged to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. I am in my fourth and final year with the SSP program which has supported ONHS students in their science research efforts with $34,000 in funding.
T-Hawk Science Research
Science research has a long history in the ONSS. The T-Hawk Science Research program works to provide students with the support to take their projects to the next level. Students present research at the local, regional, state and national level.
Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Project
Student from across the region are collecting data on the water quality of local streams. ONHS students are teaming with Pulaski High to monitor Trout Creek. Our data is shared with UW-Green Bay and is presented at a spring symposium.
